Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A married woman died by suicide after jumping into a well in the Dahegaon area, with the incident coming to light after midnight on Friday. Acting on information received via Dial 112, the police and fire brigade rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

According to police, at around 2.12 am on Friday, they received information that a woman had jumped into a well at Dahegaon Bungalow. Police personnel immediately reached the spot. A mobile phone, dupatta and slippers were found near the well, while the woman’s body was seen inside. During inquiry, the deceased was identified as Namrata Atmaram Borude (21), a resident of Dahegaon Bungalow, Gangapur tehsil.

Meanwhile, the Kanchanwadi sub-fire station received a rescue call. Under the guidance of chief fire officer Ashok Khandekar, sub-officer Vijay Rathod along with the fire brigade team rushed to the scene. Fire personnel descended into the well and retrieved the body, handing it over to Waluj police. The rescue operation involved duty in-charge Wasim Pathan, firemen Ritesh Kasure, Mayur Kumawat, Chhagan Salamabad, Irfan Pathan and driver Ramdas Raut.

Namrata Borude had been married on April 15, 2022. Her husband, Atmaram Rameshwar Borude (24), lives with the family in Dahegaon. The exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, and Waluj police are conducting further investigation.

The last rites were performed at Dahegaon Bungalow at 5 pm on Friday under police security. A case of accidental death has been registered, and further investigation is being carried out by police sub-inspector Ajay Shitole of Waluj police station.
