Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A two-wheeler belonging to an MBBS student was stolen from the paid parking area at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), marking the second such theft within 24 hours. The incident has once again raised serious concerns over the parking management and security arrangements at the hospital.

Earlier, on March 4, nurse Surekha Pagar had parked her moped in the parking area of the Medicine Department in the morning. However, when she returned after finishing her duty at around 2:30 pm, the vehicle was found missing.

In the latest case, the daughter of Ramdhan Utade (56), a constable in the traffic police department and resident of Pahadsinghpura, is pursuing MBBS at the hospital. On March 5, she went to attend work in the OPD at around 10 am and parked her two-wheeler in the staff parking area near the Psychiatry Department.

When she returned around 2 pm, the vehicle had been stolen. A case has been registered at Begumpura police station, and further investigation is underway.

The repeated thefts have created concern among students, staff and relatives of patients visiting the hospital, who say their vehicles remain unsafe even in the paid parking areas.
