Aurangabad, Nov 12:

A total of 40 candidates including nominees of major political parties have filed 53 nomination forms to contest Marathwada Graduate Constituency elections, on the last day, today. The Maha Vikas Aghadi''s Satish Chavan, BJP''s Shirish Boralkar and Yuva Sena''s Akshay Khandekar submitted their nominations today.

The state water resources minister Jayant Patil, social justice minister Dhananjay Munde, EGS minister Sandeepan Bhumre, MLC Vikram Kale and former MP Chandrakant Khaire accompanied Chavan while filing the nomination.

The union minister of state Raosaheb Danve, former minister Pankaja Munde, MLA Sambhaji Nilangekar and others accompanied Boralkar while filing the nomination.

The candidates of many political parties including MIM, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena filed their nominations apart from the independent candidates.

The assistant election returning officer (AERO) said, " We have received a total of 53 forms filed by 40 candidates today. On Wednesday, we had received 30 forms filed by 23 candidates. Hence a total of 63 candidates had filed 83 nomination forms with our office."
