Aurangabad, May 30:

Minister of State Abdul Sattar demanded a probe into insurance one lakh farmers from Sillod and Soyegaon whose false information was mentioned in the documents.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Abdul Sattar said that the 260 times increase was shown in the produce of farmers on insurance documents when they had the lowest produce in actual.

He claimed around one lakh farmers were deprived of an insurance claim because of the irregularities.

The minister, who also submitted evidence to Agriculture Minister Dada Bhuse, said that action should be taken against tehsildars, insurance company representatives and agriculture officers, otherwise, he would take to the street as Shiv Sainik.

“Even if I am a minister in the government, tehsildars, talathi, agriculture officer and assistant, tehsil agriculture officers and remaining machinery from my department are responsible for this. This is my failure since it happened in my constituency. If the farmers do not get justice in eight days, they will agitate and are ready to knock on the court's doors. The narco test of insurance company officers should be done as their companies benefited most in the Covid situation. Each farmer should get Rs 25,000 compensation for the crops damage,” he added.
