Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: An umbrella organisation representing various social and religious groups, the Muslim Numainda Council (MNC), recently elected its new advisory body during a general body meeting held at Maulana Azad College in Rauza Baugh.

The newly formed advisory body consists of 25 members. Incumbent president Ziauddin Siddiqui was unanimously re-elected to continue in the role.

The other office-bearers elected to the body are vice-presidents Maulana Ilyas Khan Falahi, Maulana Shafiq Milli, Maulana Anwarul Haq Ishaati, Maulana Hafiz Mohammad Sharif Nizami and Adv. Faiz Syed. Abdul Mueed Hashar Khan was elected as general secretary, while Adv. Salim Khan, Dr Yaser Siddiqui, Salman Siddiqui and Mohammad Hussain Rizvi were chosen as secretaries. Syed Amjaduddin Qaudri was elected press secretary, while Mohammad Kamran Ali Khan took charge as treasurer.

The election process was supervised by returning officer Abdul Muqeem Deshmukh, with professor Qazi Naveed and Syed Rizwanullah serving as observers. For the presidential election process, Mazhar Farooqui acted as returning officer, while Khalil Nasir served as observer.

The newly elected body pledged to work in a more organised, active and effective manner while continuing its efforts to address issues concerning the community.
