Aurangabad, July 13:

A recipient of a special award constituted by Maharashtra Rajya Urdu Sahitya Academy for his valuable contribution to promoting the Urdu language, Mohsin Ahmed Basheer Ahmed, has been appointed unanimously as the state president of Bazm Pasban-e-Urdu Adab, Maharashtra (Aurangabad). The organisation's office-bearers including secretary Dr. Aziz Erfan, Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed Iqbal, Dr. Shaikh Ibrahim Ahmed, Dr. Umme Roman, Khan Muhammed Yaser, Dr. Shaheen Fatema, and others congratulated him on his appointment.

It may be noted that the Urdu organisation in the past 35 years had conducted various programmes like poetic meet, Mushairas, literary meets, encouraged writers, poets, etc. to promote this language in the region, stated the press release.
