Mortality rate in Aurangabad more than state

Aurangabad, May 30:

The Corona patients in the district are reducing now, but the mortality rate of the Aurangabad district is more than the state, which is a matter of concern. Everyday, around 25 deaths are reported in the second Corona wave. The mortality rate on Saturday was 10.08 percent. The mortality rate of the state is just 2.6 percent, which is much less compared to the Aurangabad district. The health machinery is working hard to reduce the mortality rate. However, the death rate is more as the patients are approaching the doctors in the advance state of disease. It the patients are given treatment in time, the mortality rate can be reduced, the experts opined.

Moreover, the mortality rate in the rural areas is more than the urban areas. The patients have to approach the city for treatment.

The total patients in the Aurangabad city reported so far are 85,950, of which 83,141 recovered while 1841 died. Similarly, the total number of patients in the rural areas is 56,337, of which, 51916 recovered while, 1335 died.
