The 'Missing Link' project on the Yashwantrao Chavan Mumbai–Pune expressway will open to the public on May 1, Maharashtra Day. Chief minister and deputy chief ministers of Maharashtra will inaugurate the project.

The Maharashtra state road development corporation (MSRDC) has implemented the project to reduce travel time between Mumbai and Pune and improve route efficiency.

The confederation of Indian industry (CII) Maharashtra said infrastructure projects of this scale support ease of doing business, regional competitiveness, and investment into the state.

Industry impact. The project is expected to reduce logistics and inventory costs, cut fuel expenses, and improve movement of goods and workforce on the corridor. Deepak Garg, chairman, CII Maharashtra, said, "Enhanced connectivity will improve logistics efficiency, reduce costs, and boost investor confidence, enabling businesses to scale operations more effectively."
