According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Kara recorded a strong start in advance bookings, grossing over Rs 4 crore worldwide and selling more than 2.5 lakh tickets across India prior to release. Early estimates suggest the film collected around Rs 1.01 crore net domestically by Thursday afternoon.

Backed by Vels Film International, the film is set against the backdrop of the Gulf War and follows the story of Karasaami, a man striving to protect his family while confronting his past. The film also stars Mamitha Baiju, KS Ravikumar, Karunas and Jayaram in key roles.

With strong word-of-mouth emerging from audiences, Kara is expected to maintain steady traction at the box office over the opening weekend.
