National-level medical literature & culture conference

The city will host the first All India Medical Literature-Culture Conference on 14–15 February 2026 at Manthan Hall, MIT Engineering College, Beed Bypass Road organised by IMA Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Themed “Pride of Marathi: Language, Service, and Culture”, the event aims to unite medicine with Marathi literature and culture on a national platform.

The conference seeks to provide doctors with a platform for literary and cultural expression. At a press meet, organisers shared the schedule, objectives, and special attractions.

Programme Highlights

Day 1 (14 February 2026) will begin with student competitions in painting (Saptrang Arogya), essay (Maza Dabba Maza Mitra), and elocution (Fast Food: Curse or Blessing?), followed by a felicitation ceremony, IMA flag hoisting, Granthdindi (book procession), literary sessions, ghazal and poetry conferences, and the Marathi comedy play Makadachya Hati Champagne.

Day 2 (15 February 2026) will feature interactions with director Mangesh Hodole, author Arvind Jagtap, and panel discussions with medical experts. The inauguration will be led by author Vishwas Patil, with Padma Shri Dr. Jabbar Patel serving as conference chair.

Special attractions

The venue will feature book exhibitions, art showcases, and fashion & jewellery pavilions.

Speaking at the press meet, Dr. Shahaji Taur, conference organising chair, said:

“This is not merely a series of events, but a cultural movement. Emphasis has been placed on quality, discipline, and literary value. Participation from doctors across the state and nation is expected, and the conference promises to be memorable.”

The press meet was attended by IMA president Dr. Anupam Takalkar, IMA secretary Dr. Yogesh Lakkas, former IMA president Dr. Yashwant Agade, and conference organising chair Dr. Shahaji Taur.
