NEP focuses on all-round development of students
Aurangabad, Dec 7:
“Students learn to get marks in examinations. It appears that they have forgotten the application of their knowledge. But, the New Education Policy (NEP) focuses on all-round development of students. It aims to encourage cognition and creativity among students. They will have the opportunities to innovate and adapt,” hoped Govind Kabra, the director of Dnyandeep Foundation Centre (DFC).
He was speaking on ‘Changes in Education Field from NEP in a webinar organised jointly by Lokmat and DFC on Sunday. Govind Kabra said that required skills for all-round development of students were included in syllabus as per the NEP. He said that stress was also laid in NEP for the mental health of students.
“Children don’t have a habit of listening ‘no’ and embracing failure. They get upset immediately because of this. Since childhood, students be made to play outdoor games. Victory and defeat in games are like a vaccination for mental health,” he asserted.
DFC Advanced Foundation CourseDFC has prepared an ‘Advanced Foundation Court’ for preparing students for competitive examinations on the school level. Students of 7th and 8th standard can join the course from next year.
The DFC will conduct an examination on December 20. Those who wish to appear for the examination should send a message on mobile no (9225318727) for the registration.
“There is education loss of many students due to Novel coronavirus. A bridge course will be conducted between December 15 and 28 to cover the losses and create interest among students for study. It focuses on basic concepts,” he said.
