Aurangabad, Nov 7:

The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) started checking of chemists and druggists shops in the city for selling masks at a higher price.

A notice was served to six medicines shops in the city. It may be noted that the State Government announced that N-95 mask should be sold from Rs 19 to Rs 49 while two and three-ply mask should be sold at Rs three to four.

However, this appeared on paper only as the masks are being sold at higher prices than the Government fixed. The FDA took the matter serious launched a driver to check the shops.

FDA Joint director Sanjay Kale said that a notice was served to six shops for selling masks beyond the Government prescribed rate.
