Now, ATM for stray animals, birds in city
Aurangabad, Nov 30:
With the initiative of Aurangabad Pet Lovers Association (APLA), the Lions Club of Aurangabad Classic (LCAC) has installed ATM (All-Time Meal) for stray animals and birds in the city.
In the first phase, one each ATM was installed at Sutgirni Chowk and Shahnoormiyan Dargah on Sunday. MLC Ambadas Danve, MLA Sanjay Shirsaat, Siddhant Shirsaat, project head of LCAC Jyoti and Ram Upadhyay graced the inaugural function. ATM is a kind of steel furniture wherein the lower portion comprise of tray providing dry food for the stray animals, while the upper portion has food material for birds. A utensil filled with drinking water is near the furniture.
The stray dogs and other stray animals had a harrowing time due to closure of hotels, food joints and mess due to lockdown. They were either starving or seen hunting for food during these months. To reduce the sufferings of animals, the ATM intends to provide food during round the clock. APLA president Berryl Sanchis hoped that the animal lovers and alert citizens would come forward to feed the stray animals and revealed the plans of APLA to install many more ATMs for animals in the city.
The LCAC office-bearers Tansukh Zambad, Rajesh Jadhav, Nitin Pedgaonkar, Milind Damodare, Radha Tornekar, Shekhar Tornekar, Berryl Sachins, Poorbi Bannerjee, Monica Kale, John Sanchis, Shiv Sarkunde, Sujit Kulkarni, AMC officer Shaikh Shahed, Reema Satdive and many others extended their help for the project.
