Aurangabad, Oct 29:

The nephew of a sand mafia from Mungi, Shevgaon was injured due to the open fire by a motorcyclist at Jalannagar on Thursday night. The injured youth himself came to the Vedantnagar police station. The police send him to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) after giving him a medical memo. The police officers rushed and inspected the crime scene.

The injured youth has been identified as Imran Shaikh Ahmed Shaikh (25, Mungi, Shevgaon, Ahmednagar). Imran is the nephew of the sand mafia Shaikh Younus. On Thursday, Imran came to Aurangabad to meet his friend Adnan at Jalannagar in Railway Station area. He was standing near Urban Grocery shop at around 7.30 pm when an unidentified man came on a motorcycle and opened fire on him. The bullet passed after touching his waist and fortunately a major mishap averted. Injured Imran immediately went to the Vedantnagar police station.

After receiving the information, crime branch PI, Anil Gaikwad, PI Mayekar, Surendra Malale and other officers inspected the crime scene. A case has been registered at the Satara police station.

The police suspected that the attack was planned through the contract killer. Shaikh Younus and Imran’s father had a dispute. Similarly, Imran’s relatives were involved in a dispute over a religious place. The police are searching all the angles now.
