Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti is fulll of DJ celebration in the whole city.

Despite a largely DJ-free Ganeshotsav and Shiv Jayanti, the police administration appealed for a peaceful Ambedkar Jayanti this year. DCP Ratnakar Navale issued strict orders warning that sound equipment would be seized if the law was breached. However, from morning itself, DJs were seen and heard dominating the city streets. In several parts of the city, DJs were tested at full volume on Monday night, with videos widely circulated on social media. Operators arrived from outside the city, including Pune and other metro cities. For two to three days prior to the Jayanti, social media was flooded with posts announcing their arrival, with influencers actively promoting DJ events across their respective areas. From 7 am onwards, DJs were playing in areas such as TV Centre, Mukundwadi market, Osmanpura and N-12, continuing till around 2 pm.

Police protection to DJ rally

At Kranti Chowk, DJs played beats reportedly crossing 130 dB enough to cause permanent eardrum damage as police protected and managed the rallies rather than stopping them. Laser and high-sensitivity blue and yellow lights blazed as part of the elaborate DJ arrangements.

Social media became the promoter

From Monday night, participants flooded Instagram announcing their arrival and vowing to ''beat the DJ'' at maximum volume. Social media effectively turned into the celebrations'' biggest promoter, amplifying DJ events across the city.
