Aurangabad, March 7:
A meeting of the task force was held today in which a partial lockdown was announced in Aurangabad district from March 11 to April 4 and full lockdown on weekends due to a surge in covid-19 cases. Jadhavwadi Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) will be shut for seven days, weddings and public functions will not be allowed and restaurants will have to be shut at 9 pm. However, a further decision will be taken after considering the situation, said district collected Sunil Chavan.
The number of covid patients has increased since February 15. Also, the number crossed the 400 marks in the last two days. Considering all these circumstances, the administration imposed a partial lockdown on weekdays and a complete lockdown on Saturday and Sunday from March 11 to April 4. Police commissioner Dr Nikhil Gupta, Municipal administrator Astik Kumar Pandey, Zilla Parishad CEO Dr Mangesh Gondwale, Superintendent of Police Mokshada Patil were present.
What will be closed:
Religious, political programmes, weekly markets, malls, rallies, marriage halls, weddings, swimming pools will be completely banned. Also, schools, colleges, classes in the city will be closed from March 11, but online education will continue and scheduled exams will be held. Hotels, bars and permit rooms in the city will continue till 9 pm at 50 per cent capacity. Also, home delivery will continue till 11 pm. Libraries, study rooms will work on 50 per cent capacity. Jadhavwadi APMC is being closed for 7 days from Wednesday night.
Complete lockdown on weekends:
There will be a complete lockdown every Saturday and Sunday of the week. However, medical services, milk, vegetables, gas, petrol pumps, industries, media, banks, transportation will be open on Saturdays and Sundays. Also, RT-PCR will be compulsory for all traders every 15 days.
