Students upset to not get degrees from dignitaries

Every year, the dignitaries award the degrees to Ph D holders on the stage in the convocation ceremony. There was a plan to call only 40 selected students on the stage to receive it. This time around, no candidate was called on the stage to give away the degrees, due to security reasons. Over 40 students were present in the entire auditorium.

On realising this, the Bamu administration announced that relatives of candidates could attend the function with identity proof. This did not help as there was a prior-announcement that only those who have an invitation card can attend it. Ph D researchers wait for the ceremony throughout the year. But, this time around, they are upset about not getting a degree with the hands of a degree.

Some of the candidates said that they are ready to receive from even a constable if the dignitaries cannot do this. Their request was turned down by security personnel citing reasons that it may malign the image of the university.
