A grant of Rs 155.52 crore was sanctioned to the Zilla Parishad (ZP) for the year 2020-21 from the district annual plan. Due to Covid-19, fund of Rs 26.5 crore was seized. Now, funds of Rs 129.43 crore has been sanctioned for 34 schemes to be implemented under ZP for this year. Hence planning is underway for utilization of the funds.
Grants of Rs 155.52 crore were sanctioned to various departments of ZP for 2020-21. None of the funds was received other than the health emergency fund. The state government has reduced the funds for various schemes of the ZP by 67 per cent. However, since 100 per cent funding will be provided hereafter, planning of development works through schemes has started in the ZP. Two meetings were held regarding the planning of all the allotments of funds. Works department chairman Kishor Balande held a series of meetings on Thursday for planning. Appasaheb Chate, chief account and finance officer, informed that the planning is underway for utilization of funds. Efforts are being made to utilize them before March.
