Aurangabad, Feb 26:

The economy was hampered due to the Corona crisis last year and the state government curtailed the funds for various departments. As a result, the snacks allowances and rewards for excellent work of the city police department was hampered from last year.

As per the information, there are around 3500 policemen in the city police department. The officers and employees look after the safety and security of the residents and their property selflessly day and night. They have to be alert to catch the criminals and prepared during the visits of the VIP persons. They also have to be present for the bandobast during meetings and agitations. The police get snacks allowances per month. This allowance was not given to the policemen due to the Corona crisis. The government has stopped the funds for this allowance, the sources said.

Cash rewards to the police for excellent work is given since the British period. The commissioner of police and DCP announce the cash rewards to the policemen. The reward amount is from Rs 50 to Rs 50,000. These are registered in the service books of the officers and employees. The funds are not available for giving the rewards, the sources mentioned.
