Frequent power outages in Chikalthana MIDC and other industrial areas are disrupting production and increasing losses for industries. Workers are often forced to remain idle as companies wait for electricity supply to resume.

Industrial units are also facing irregular water supply due to repeated power failures at the Brahmagavhan lift irrigation scheme, which supplies water to various MIDC areas from the Jayakwadi dam. Entrepreneurs alleged that unannounced load shedding by MSEDCL has become common in the industrial belt, affecting timely production and operations.

Pump house power disrupted 22 times

According to sources, power supply to the MIDC pump house at Brahmagavhan was disrupted 22 times last month, affecting water distribution to industries. “Frequent power disruptions are severely affecting industries. We have repeatedly demanded replacement of old infrastructure and increased transformer capacity in the Chikalthana industrial area,” said Gajanan Deshmukh, president of Massia.
