Aurangabad, Nov 26:

Members of the labour unions participated in a nationwide strike called on Thursday against the central government’s new farm and labour laws. The members protested against the anti-people, anti-worker, anti-national and destructive policies of the central government and formed a human chain under the banner of the workers-employees joint action committee at Waluj. The members also raised slogans against the government.

The anti-worker and anti-farmer policy of the central government has created an atmosphere of dissatisfaction among the workers. As per the decision of the central trade unions, a nationwide strike was organized on November 26. Against this backdrop, the labour unions participated in the agitation on behalf of the joint action committee. The protest started at 11 am at Tiranga Chowk in Pandharpur. The workers shouted slogans in protest of the central government''s policies. The office bearers of the action committee formed a human chain from Siemens Chowk to Tiranga Chowk in Pandharpur. The protest concluded at Mahavir Chowk. A large number of office bearers and workers of various trade unions in the industrial area including Shankar Nannure, Nitin Deshmukh, members of the Siemens workers union, New Panther Kamgar Sena, Pravin Nitanvare, Shivaji Markande were present.
