Python Given New Lease of Life After Complex Surgery
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A critically injured python, standing at death's door, has been given a new lease of life thanks to the Man With India Foundation.
The python had been seriously injured two months ago after getting entangled in a barbed wire fence in the Shendra Industrial Area. Medical examination revealed deep and severe wounds on the snake's body.
With the situation extremely delicate, Dr Amit Pardeshi successfully performed a complex two-hour surgery. The python was anaesthetised using hydrotherapy gas, following which the wounds were sutured.
The python was kept under special observation and a regular course of treatment, a balanced diet, and a rehabilitation process was carried out.
Rescue team chief Ashish Joshi said that based on information received from local residents, team member Manoj Gaikwad rushed to the spot. The Forest Department was immediately contacted, and the python was safely taken into custody and shifted for treatment. The snake has recovered fully, sooner than expected, and preparations are now underway to release it back into the wild.
