Residents frighten over mattress thrown on road

Aurangabad, May 15:

A torn and used mattress was thrown on a road near Garware Company, creating fear among riders and pedestrians who thought COVID patients may have used it.

All were maintaining four fee distance while passing it because of fear. Even sanitation employee was not ready to pick it up in PPE kit.

People were so terrified that they feel that those who have thrown it on the road should be arrested.

A truck driver Hari Singh said that if he drives his truck over the mattress, he may get infected from the virus, so, better keep a distance and move from it.

Some sanitation employees (women) were passing through the road. The residents of the area told them to put it in the garbage van. They, too, refused to do so, fearing that it may have been used by a dead patient.

They told the residents they do not have a PPE kit to pick up the mattress. COVID situation has made people take doubt while touching anything.

Psychologists feel that throwing a mattress on road in a pandemic situation is not good and those who had done this should be arrested,
