Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The 7.5-metre-wide road alongside the Aurangabad Bench of Bombay High Court experiences heavy traffic congestion daily from 10 am to 10 pm. A decision has now been taken to widen the road to 15 metres, with the widening to be carried out over a stretch of 60 metres. The bench administration has provided 7.5 metres of its own land for the expansion. The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) city engineer Sanjay Kombade confirmed that the widening work has been commenced by the civic administration.

According to the Cidco Development Plan, the road adjacent to the bench is marked as 7.5 metres wide. Residential and commercial properties are located on one side, while the bench stands on the opposite side. The area witnesses daily traffic snarls, causing inconvenience to litigants, lawyers and local residents alike.

The stretch from the bench signal to the main entrance inside the court premises is currently 7.5 metres wide and will now be expanded to 15 metres. The additional 7.5 metres required for widening has been provided by the bench administration. The widening will cover a length of 60 metres (approximately 196 feet).

The CSMC will construct a cement concrete road at the site and will also build a protective compound wall for the bench. The project will be carried out at an estimated cost of ₹2.32 crore. The city engineer said that a work order has been issued to the contractor and the work has commenced.
