In a shocking case of financial fraud, five persons have been booked at Gangapur police station for allegedly cheating two separate parties of Rs 96 lakh in a land deal involving agricultural Gut No. 6/1 at Ambewadi.

Complainant Syed Ajizoddin (40, Roshan Gate, Karim Colony), along with his associates, had finalised a deal on November 12, 2025, to purchase around 6 acres and 26 gunthas of land from accused Shamim Begum Alimoddin Farooqui, Azroddin Alimoddin Farooqui, Mazroddin Alimoddin Farooqui, Athhar Alimoddin Farooqui and Khijar Alimoddin Farooqui (all residents of Gangapur) for Rs 2.27 crore. The complainant paid Rs 56 lakh as earnest money through RTGS and cash. However, despite issuing a receipt, the accused allegedly avoided executing the sale deed. During the probe, it surfaced that the same land had earlier been sold on September 3, 2024, to Bilal Sahal Chaus and his associates for Rs 2.23 crore, from whom Rs 40 lakh had also been collected. Police have registered a case under relevant sections, and further investigation is being conducted by PSI Anil Zore.
