Running a newspaper is not a child's job - Raj Thackeray

Eveninger Sanjwarta to now be daily: Prominent presence of Rajendra Darda, Bhumare, Sattar and Bala Nandgaonkar.

Aurangabad, Dec 14:

Running a newspaper is not a child's job. Nagpur 'Lokmat' turns 50 on Wednesday. Running a newspaper for 50 years is not an easy task, stated Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Tuesday.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the release ceremony of the eveninger Sanjwarta as a daily. Editor-in-Chief of Lokmat group of newspaper Rajendra Darda, state horticulture minister Sandipan Bhumare, minister of state for revenue Abdul Sattar, MLAs Atul Save, Prashant Bamb, MNS leader Bala Nandgaonkar were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Rajendra Darda pointed out that Sanjwarta that was an eveninger will be published as a daily from December 15, while the Nagpur edition of Lokmat is turning fifty on Wednesday. Catching the same thread, Raj Thackeray said that running newspapers for 50 years is not an easy task. I have worked in Marmik and Saamana. Nowadays newspapers run on advertisements, while electronic media run on TRP. They are trying to increase TRP in any way possible, he said, adding that the language of newspapers should be good and readers should be satisfied with reading some good text. He also expressed the expectation that there should be journalists who ask good questions. On this occasion, he also praised editor Dilip Chitlange.

Good things should be encouraged

Editor-in-Chief of Lokmat group of newspapers Rajendra Darda, lauded Dilip Chitlange's efforts and wished him success in his endeavors. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted various aspects of the newspaper business. He said the newspaper business is as glamorous as the cine world. But it is also complicated and complex. Often, a journalist makes it happen with a stroke of a pen. While talking about writing, Jiwaji, the protagonist of Gadkari's Rajsanyas play, says if a real snake bites, a person dies. But if the pen bites, the entire family can go to the abyss. It is important to be aware of this when running a newspaper and using a pen, he said. Many challenges are facing the media today. The biggest challenge facing journalism today is to cultivate credibility, transparency and objectivity. Not all are evil in society. He also hoped that the good things in the society should be encouraged while taking up the role of struggle for the people. The editor Dilip Chitlange explained the role behind the conversion of eveninger into a daily published in the morning.
