Sarpanch’s son brutally attacked, 3 booked for attempted murder

Three men attacked the son of Gevrai Tanda’s sarpanch with an iron rod on Paithan Road, leaving him critically injured. The attack took place on Saturday afternoon near a hotel, following a heated argument. Police have registered a case of attempted murder against the accused at Chikalthana Police Station.

The accused, identified as Nikhil Jadhav, Rohit Jadhav and Vijay Gopichand Jadhav all residents of Gevrai Tanda allegedly ambushed Jay Santosh Rathod, the sarpanch’s son, while he was travelling with his friend Yuvraj Pawar. According to Yuvraj’s complaint, he and Jay were on a Bullet motorcycle (MH 20 DJ 9160) when Nikhil and Rohit intercepted them near Mahanubhav Ashram and verbally abused them. Sensing trouble, the duo turned back toward their village. However, as they reached Sairaj Hotel on Paithan Road, Vijay Jadhav stopped them, while Nikhil and Rohit arrived shortly after. The confrontation escalated, and without warning, the trio attacked Jay with an iron rod, striking his head. As he collapsed, the attackers continued to assault him with kicks and punches. Jay’s brother arrived at the scene and rushed him to a private hospital. His condition remains critical.A case has been registered at Chikalthana Police Station.

Threats to Bystanders

Witnesses who tried to intervene were also threatened by the accused, who warned them against getting involved. Chikalthana Police have launched an investigation and are searching for the accused.
