Aurangabad, May 18:

Many school bus drivers who are jobless for the past 14 months have started selling vegetables or other works.

There are 1000 schools which have a bus facility. The buses transport around 14,000 students daily. Around 2,000 families are dependent on school buses. No bus was plied during the last 14 months because of COVID 19, causing financial loss to the drivers. Schools were reopened for a short time, but drivers did not ply them. There is pressure from banks and financial institutions to repay the loan instalments. This has put the drivers in trouble. For how many days they will have to struggle for survival is a question before them. The drivers demanded that the Government should announce a package to help them in running the family/

They also demanded that the banks and financial institutions should stop the recovery of loan installments. They said they would repay loan installment regularly once the schools reopen.
