Aurangabad, Nov 21:

Administrator of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation Astik Kumar Pandey on Saturday afternoon announced that city schools from standard 9th to 12th would reopen from January 3 instead of November 23 because of rising Novel coronavirus patients here.

It may be noted that the State government gave powers of secondary school reopening to the local administration. The Education Department of the AMC started preparation like COVID test of teachers, sanitising classrooms since the schools were to reopen from November 23.

But, 404 number of patients were found during the last three days. This is a fresh increase in the city.

The State Government hinted at second waive of COVID 19. Parents were panicked during the last eight to 10 days. The administration in a dilemma over reopening the schools given the situation. Education Minister Versha Gaikwad has issued instructed local administration to decide on it.

Taking into consideration of students health, Astik Kumar Pandey, made an announcement in the afternoon about postponing the reopening of the schools and allowing the students to attend classes actually from January 3.

However, teachers were instructed to teach online and be on duty daily. There are 361 secondary schools in the city. Aurangabad is the third city to keep schools close to actual classes after Pune and Mumbai. This provided relief to parents in some way.
