Aurangabad, Dec 9: Three members of Zilla Parishad (ZP) were up in arms for their demand of sending the primary education officer (EO) Surajprasad Jaiswal on a compulsory leave accusing him of covering up a lot of irregularities and staged walk out even after an assurance of conducting a fast enquiry and taking due action against Jaiswal came from the chief executive officer (CEO) on Wednesday.

The standing committee meeting of ZP members got was held under the chairmanship of Meena Shelke in the Yashwantrao Chavan auditorium this morning. ZP vice president L G Gayakwad, committee heads Kishor Balande, Avinash Galande, members Kishor Pawar, Madhukar Walture, Jitendra Jaiswal, deputy CEO Dr Sunil Bhokare, additional CEO Santosh Kawade and others were present in the meeting.

The members Keshavrao Tayade, Ramesh Gayakwad and Shivaji Pathrikar raised the issue of irregularities in the education department and accused Jaiswal of keeping them under a wrap. A surplus teacher was accommodated in the ZP school at Jarandi on January 1, 2015, but the teacher hasn’t joined the new school, then from which school his salary is being released for the last five years and why? It was Jaiswal who issued an oral order of releasing his salary. Moreover, an order of recovering the paid salaries from the concerned teacher was passed. Under such cloudy circumstances, it is unfair to allow him to continue in his office, because he may cast his influence. Therefore, he should be send on a compulsory leave first and then enquiry be conducted through a third agency, the trio demanded.

Replying them, CEO Dr Mangesh Gondawale first clarified that many of the allegations have been found devoid substance, nevertheless all allegations will be probed through a third agency and then a fast action will be initiated against the guilty persons. His explanation failed to dissuade the trio from leaving the auditorium and they staged walk out. They also threatened of launching a hunger strike in front of CEO chamber.

The issues of lunch, breakfast and stationery expenditure of schools and hostels were also taken on the discussion. The officers concerned addressed them in the meeting.
