Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
Alleging discrimination, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) corporator Rishikesh Jaiswal has directly lodged a complaint with the municipal commissioner against both the BJP and the municipal administration, claiming that his party is being treated unfairly despite being part of the ruling alliance in the civic body.
According to Jaiswal, although the BJP and Shinde Sena formed the government together in the municipal corporation, the Shiv Sena faction has not been given any share in power. He alleged that Shiv Sena corporators have been facing step-motherly treatment from both BJP representatives and the civic administration in recent days.
In his complaint, Jaiswal submitted three separate letters to the Commissioner. In one of them, he stated that the chairperson of the standing committee and officials do not involve the concerned prabhag corporators during inspections of drains and development works. He further alleged that concerned corporators were also excluded from meetings with traders, including a recent meeting held at Aurangpura vegetable market.
He demanded that if corporators are not required, their resignations should be taken. He also urged that due process should be followed while conducting inspections and meetings related to development works. Jaiswal additionally raised the issue of shops in the city not displaying signboards in Marathi, demanding action as per government orders.
Issue of handcarts after Ramzan Eid
Jaiswal also questioned the status of handcarts in the old city area after Ramzan Eid, stating that the administration and civic leaders had earlier assured that the issue would be resolved after the festival. He alleged that no action has been taken so far and claimed that Hindu traders are being targeted. It is a deliberate attempt to create communal discord, he alleged.
