Aurangabad, Feb 22: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s birth anniversary was celebrated at Winchester International English School with enthusiasm. The great Maratha warrior king was remembered on this auspicious day. The portrait of Shivaji Maharaj was garlanded by principal Dr Afsar Khan, and Shadab Azhar Khan, the joint director. The programme started with the song of Mohd. Uzair. Surekha Dhole gave a brief account of Shivaji Maharaj from his childhood to becoming Chhatrapati. Dr Afsar Khan reiterated that Shivaji Maharaj lived only for 50 years and died young but in short span of his life he established his own Rajya and ruled in just manner. Speakers threw light on Shivaji Maharaj’s heroic achievement and capturing of forts and establishing a kingdom.
