Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
Devotion and spirituality marked the fifth day of the seven-day ‘Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram Katha’ at the under-construction ISKCON VECC temple premises on Jalna Road, where devotees gathered to listen to world-renowned Bhagavatacharya Lal Govind Das.
During the discourse, Lal Govind Das narrated the episodes of Janakpuri, Pushpa Vatika and Sita Swayamvar from Balakand. Emphasising the importance of dignity and discipline in life, he said Lord Shri Ram followed ‘maryada’ in every aspect of life and set an ideal for society.
Explaining the Pushpa Vatika episode, he highlighted the value of selfless service and devotion. Referring to Sita Swayamvar, he said Shri Ram’s respect towards Mata Sita symbolised the honour given to women in Indian culture.
Several dignitaries and devotees attended the programme and later participated in Mahaprasad. The organising committee informed that the sixth day of the Katha on Wednesday will feature ‘Ram-Vangaman and the Kevat episode’.
