Company employee thrashed after bus stopped; four flee after stone attack

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A company employee was allegedly dragged out of a bus and brutally assaulted following a dispute at the workplace. The accused also attacked him on the head with a stone before fleeing the spot. The incident took place on Monday on Tembhapuri Road in Waluj. A case has been registered against four persons in connection with the assault.

According to police, complainant Sainath Sahebrao Devre (28), a native of Sadha Pimpri in Phulambri tehsil and currently residing at Gokulnagar in Jadhavwadi, stated that the incident occurred around 12.25 am on Sunday night, nearly half a kilometre from the company premises on Tembhapuri Road.

While Devre was travelling in the company bus, accused Vishal Dhone allegedly stopped the bus by parking his two-wheeler in front of it. Dhone, along with three unidentified youths, then boarded the bus and dragged Devre out before assaulting him with kicks and punches.

According to the complaint, the accused attacked him saying, “Why did you record Vishal Dhone’s video in the company? Have you become too overconfident?”

When some employees from the bus tried to intervene, the accused allegedly threatened them, saying, “If you interfere, we will make it difficult for you to even come to the company,” following which nobody stepped forward to stop the assault.

Vishal Dhone then allegedly picked up a stone lying by the roadside and struck Devre on the head, causing severe bleeding injuries. The accused fled the spot after the attack.

Devre was initially admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) by his co-workers and was later shifted to a private hospital for further treatment.

A case has been registered at Waluj police station against Vishal Dhone and the three unidentified youths.
