Six people, including the driver, were seriously injured after an unidentified speeding vehicle caused an accident near the Ganapati temple in the Dahegaon bungalow area on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Pune highway at around 10.30 pm on Friday.
According to available information, an Eeco car was travelling from Shrirampur towards Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar with passengers on board. At around 10.30 pm, within the jurisdiction of Waluj Police Station near Dahegaon bungalow, a speeding unidentified vehicle attempted to overtake or cut close to the Eeco. This caused the driver, Ganesh Pawar, to lose control of the vehicle. As a result, the car overturned three to four times and fell off the highway.
The injured have been identified as Zaubai Kashiram Shepude (60, Shrirampur), Vijaya Appa Adgale (45, Khandwa), Pritesh Kashiram Shisode (10, Khandwa), Ajiram Shisode (35, Khandwa), Pawansingh Kumar Singh (46, Bajajnagar), and driver Ganesh Ashok Pawar (35).
Following the accident, local residents rushed to the scene. Upon receiving information, a free ambulance service associated with Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Narendracharya Nanijdham from Isarwadi Phata transported all the injured to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment.
