Special vaccination drive for disabled citizens in city

Aurangabad, May 31:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation in association with an NGO, Samdrushti Kshamata Vikas Anusandhan Mandal, has launched a dedicated vaccination drive for disabled persons (of age 18 to 44 years) at Lahuji Salve Health Centre at Milind Nagar (Railway Station MIDC), today.

The MLA Sanjay Shirsat, AMC administrator A K Pandey and former deputy mayor Rajendra Janjal were present on the occasion. The health centre is run by Savitribai Phule Mahila Ekata Samaj Mandal. The drive is claimed to be the first initiative of its kind in the state.

The drive was participated by special schools for disabled persons - Navjivan School and Swayamsiddh School. The drive was held under the supervision of the municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr. Neeta Padalkar. As many as 90 disabled persons registered for their names for vaccination, out of which, 50 were administered the vaccine today.

The deputy commissioner Aparna Tethe, Aditi Shardul, Prashant Somvanshi, Abhijit Joshi, and Trishna Mali made efforts to conduct the drive successfully.
