Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A speeding car rammed into an auto-rickshaw from behind near the start of the Seven Hills flyover in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Sunday at around 7.45 pm, causing the auto-rickshaw to crash into a signboard at the flyover’s entrance.

The car, bearing Shrirampur registration (MH-17), and the auto-rickshaw (MH-20-EF-7327) were travelling from Cidco towards the flyover when the car struck the auto from behind. The impact pushed the auto-rickshaw into a signboard installed near the beginning of the flyover. The auto-rickshaw was carrying a family, including the driver, a woman, and two children aged approximately one-and-a-half years and five years. Fortunately, no major injuries were reported. Local residents and passersby immediately stopped the car and asked the driver to step out. However, the driver suddenly reversed the vehicle and fled the scene in a rash manner. Eyewitnesses stated that the car was being driven recklessly even before the collision. The incident led to a crowd gathering near the Seven Hills flyover for nearly 20 minutes, causing temporary disruption in traffic. The auto driver said that a complaint would be lodged at the police station.
