Alleged theft of finished goods by a supervisor at Shri Pressing Unit-2 in MIDC Waluj came to light after CCTV footage revealed the act.

The accused, Ashok Mhaskar of Wadgaon, is absconding and has allegedly threatened suicide. Based on a complaint by Mohini Kanujia (33, Bajajnagar), Mhaskar was caught on December 21, 2025, around 7:20 pm, allegedly stealing clutch plates. CCTV footage reportedly showed he had stolen nearly 200 plates daily for six days 1,200 plates worth about Rs 16,800. When confronted, he abandoned the bag and fled. On April 22, he briefly appeared at the company gate but left after being denied entry without senior approval.

Suicide photos sent to production head

Shortly thereafter, the accused’s wife allegedly sent photographs related to a suicide attempt to the company’s production head via mobile phone. The accused also reportedly posted a status on his phone suggesting he intended to hang himself, thereby issuing a suicide threat. The developments have created concern within the company and among those involved. While a theft case has been registered, police have launched a search for the absconding accused and are investigating all aspects of the matter.
