Take action against defaulter institutions, companies

Aurangabad, July 8:

All the districts in the division should review the debts and make a tehsil wise list of all the arrears. Recovery should be carried out effectively and legal action should be taken against the defaulter institutions and factories. Co-operation and marketing minister Balasaheb Patil on Thursday directed to file charges against those who lend money without a license.

A review meeting of Aurangabad and Latur divisions was held at the collector office under the chairmanship of Patil on Thursday. Patil said that under Mahatma Jotiba Phule loan waiver scheme, complaints received at district and tehsil level should be redressed immediately. Similarly, the work should be completed within the period given to the co-operative banks and institutions. Emphasis should be placed on recovery by preparing a relevant action plan for recovery. For this, the joint registrar, deputy registrar should make proper use of the powers vested to them and take action for recovery. Care should be taken to ensure that the institutions are not closed down by doing a timely audit. Co-operation commissioner Anil Kawade, joint registrar Dr P L Khandagale, officer on special duty Avinash Deshpande, Santosh Patil and other officials were present.

Increase debt recovery targets

The main objective of the district central co-operative bank is to provide crop loans to farmers. Accordingly, the deputy registrar should review the performance of district central co-operative banks and nationalised banks at the end of July and direct them to increase the debt recovery targets.
