Teachers upset over forcing to take lecture from Dept

Aurangabad, June 28:

Teachers in Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) campus are upset about conducting online lectures from the departments.

It may be noted that the academic schedule was paralysed because of Covid lockdown.

The first-semester session, held in the rainy season, was generally conducted in winter and vice versa.

The result of some postgraduate courses examinations held in May, was not declared yet.

The university administration instructed the teachers to complete lectures of the second semester online. Teachers in some departments started taking online lectures from June 15.

There is a mobile network issue in many departments. So, they are facing problem in online classes. They feel that Bamu should provide a proper Internet facility or be allowed to take conduct classes from home.

State unit secretary of Samyak Vidyarthi Andolan Prakash Ingle took objection to the online classes. He said that hostels in university and colleges were opened.

“So, many students are in their native place. There are complaints of a network in rural areas. Teachers should think about how many students attend online lectures in such a situation,” he said.

Ingle said that the administration should verify whether the lectures are being held or not.

Pro-vice-chancellor Dr Shyam Shirsath said that computer and Internet facility was made available in all the departments.

“Teachers can take online lectures through the computers of the department. There is no question connection between lectures about the mobile network. If there is any problem in the department, the teachers should bring to the notice of the administration which will solve the problem,” he added.
