Theatre arts carry power to challenge authority: Manjul Bharadwaj

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Renowned theatre artist Manjul Bhardwaj stated that theatre arts carry the power to challenge the authority of the world and that art is essentially a search for truth.
He was speaking at a special programme ‘Rangsamvad’ organised by the Department of Music and Drama of MGM University at the Einstein Auditorium on Tuesday. He interacted with the audience.
Chancellor Ankushrao Kadam, senior Gandhian Shriram Jadhav, Dean Dr Rekha Shelke, Head of Department Dr Raju Sonawane, faculty members, students and others were present.
Manjul Bharadwaj elaborated extensively on 'Gandhi and Theatre Arts', explaining the various meanings of truth and stating that Gandhi worked against exploitation.
He said that theatre means thought, and the practice of thought is theatre arts. Jai Kadam, Dr Yogita Mahajan, Sachin Chaudhari, Dr Rameshwar Kanse, Dr Bhagwat Wagh and others participated in the dialogue session.
