Aurangabad, July 12:

Thieves broke into a company’s office in the Waluj MIDC area and tried an unsuccessful attempt to broke the safe on Sunday night. Later, they dragged it for around 100 meters from the spot and tried but broke it with tools, but failed. When they realized that the police are approaching, they fled away from the scene, leaving the safe, and the cash in it was saved.

Flipkart Company has its office in the Pandharpur area in the Waluj MIDC area. On Sunday night, all the employees went to their homes and locked the office. Thieves took advantage of this opportunity and broke into the office and tried to open the safe, weighing around two tons. As they could not open it, they took the safe away in an open space around 100 meters away.

Meanwhile, an employee of the office, Sandesh Rameshwar Ghuvare, came to the office and found the shutter was bent and the safe was missing. He immediately informed the Waluj MIDC police and the senior officers of the company. API M R Ghunawat and his team rushed to the spot and started searching in the nearby areas with the help of the office employees. They heard some noise in the open space near the office, and they went there. On realizing that the police are approaching, the thieves left the safe and fled away from the scene. They could not break the safe and the cash Rs 10,59,797 was safe in it. However, they had taken Rs 26,000 kept in a drawer of a table in the office.

Two thieves were captured in the CCTV cameras of the office. A case has been registered on the complaint lodged by Sandesh Ghevare, informed PI Madhukar Sawant.
