Traders, hoteliers above 18 years to be vaccinated

Aurangabad, June 8:

All the traders and hoteliers who are above 18 years of age will be vaccinated in the city from June 10.

The State Government lifted the restrictions because of a low number of Covid patients.

Life is returning to normalcy in the city from Monday. There is a huge rush in the market after restrictions were lifted.

Aurangabad Municipal Corporation Health officer Dr Neeta Padalkar said patients number might increase if measures were not taken, so the health department would start vaccination of traders and hoteliers who may prove superspreaders.

“The life has returned to normalcy. However, there is a responsibility of citizens to maintain their place in the ‘Level-I’ category. Therefore, they should wear a mask, use a santiser and maintain physical distancing. The pandemic virus situation is under control, but it was ended completely,” she said.

Dr Padalkar said there is need to keep watch on people and places which may become superspreader.

She said that the AMC had started preparations to vaccinate traders, hoteliers from the city and their employees. The traders will have to register in a separate section in CoWin App. A total of four RT-PCR test centres were started for traders test, which will be conducted between 10 am to 5 pm.

The names of the centres are Baijipura Health Centre, AMC Aurangpura Health Centre, Sant Tukaram Natyagra Cidco N-5 and MIT College Building (no 2).
