It was seen that some citizens of Sirsamal village had encroached on the forest land. The villagers were then instructed by the forest department and eco battalion officials to show the land ownership documents. However, no farmers came with the documents. Eco-battalion commanding officer colonel M A Khan, project officer Lieutenant colonel Mithil S Jayakar, captain Mehta Heet and forest department officials recently inspected the land. Over 1.60 lakh trees can be planted on this land. The forest officials informed that eco-battalion is ready to plant these trees. The forest lands will be handed over to the eco-battalion and tree plantation will soon be carried out.

Discussion with the villagers

Eco-battalion commanding officer colonel M A Khan met the citizens of Sirsamal village and learned about their problems. He also said that more fruit bearing trees will be planted in the forest land. Also, farmers in the village harvest once a year. Therefore, the manpower required for tree planting will be made available from the village itself.
