One person was seriously injured in a collision between a truck and an Eicher vehicle on the Samruddhi Expressway near Fatiyabad in Daulatabad around 5.30 am on Wednesday.
The truck (MH-03-CV-5030), en route to Nashik, suffered a steering rod failure at Channel No. 441 and crashed into the divider, blocking the road. An Eicher (MH-04-EB-1319) following behind rammed into the stalled truck. The Eicher driver, Vilas Digambar Shelke (38), from Kadak Sawangi in Parbhani, was critically injured and admitted to Ghati Hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Highway police, led by Sub-Inspector Kakasaheb Nagave, quickly responded, cleared both vehicles using a crane, and restored traffic.
