The municipal corporation spent crores of rupees on white topping of the road from TV Center to Seven Hills. However, motorists are now facing difficulties due to the encroachments on this road. But the municipal corporation and the traffic police are turning a blind eye.

Cement roads cost three times more than asphalt roads. Important roads in the city were smoothed with a grant from the state government for the convenience of the motorists. However, sidewalks and road sides have been heavily encroached. On Sunday, a reporter from this newspaper surveyed the road from the TV Center to Seven Hills. During inspection, it was found that four wheelers and commercial vehicles were parked on the dividers and footpaths disrupting the traffic. Some traders have encroached on the sidewalk near the bungalow of the Superintendent of Police. Hence vehicles of the customers are parked on the cement road. Apart from this, handcarts were seen standing on the road in large numbers. Such scenes can be seen on both sides of the road. The encroachments narrow down the road to four to eight feet.

Sand mafia encroaches road

Sand mafias have encroached on both sides of the road from Royal Colony to Azad Chowk. Large piles of sand are lying on the roadside. The sale of sand is also in full swing here. Sand is dumped in large number by heavy vehicles in the night. Therefore, motorists often have to face traffic congestion.

Massive encroachments from Azad Chowk to the cemetery

Large vehicles are parked on cement roads at Azad chowk. Citizens who come to the cemetery for cremation do not even get a place to park their vehicles. The situation is similar from MGM to Motiwalanagar.
