Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
Traffic movement in the Shivajinagar underpass was disrupted twice on Wednesday, causing severe congestion. Around 1 pm, a hyva truck got stuck in the underpass during peak heat hours, leading to a jam lasting nearly one to one-and-a-half hours and long queues on both sides.
The hyva was later removed after repeated efforts, but by then motorists were already stranded and many were forced to take alternate routes amid intense heat. In the evening around 5.45 pm, a bus carrying workers got stuck in the iron frame at Deolai Chowk, damaging its roof sheet and further worsening the situation. Attempts by vehicles to pass from both sides led to a complete standstill. A partially completed service road on the Shivajinagar side was finished on Tuesday and is expected to ease traffic, but the Deolai chowk-side service road remains incomplete, continuing to disrupt movement.
