Vaidya opened several branches to dupe unemployed youths

Aurangabad, Nov 25:

Ashok Sahebrao Vaidya, who cheated hundreds of youth of crores of rupees with the false promises to provide them government jobs, was arrested by the Economic Offences Cell on Tuesday. It has been unveiled that Vaidya ran several branches in various cities in the state to dupe the unemployed youths with the lure of gaining a government job. As the complaints had increased against him here, he was planning to go to Nagpur, the sources said.

An unemployed youth, Yogesh Gore lodged a complaint against Vaidya at Jawaharnagar police station on Monday evening that Vaidya had duped him to gain a job of a TC in railways. Later, the economic offense cell arrested Vaidya and he is presently in the police custody. The police are investigating that what he had done of the money collected from the youths and investigating his several bank accounts. The police is planning to gain information of all his accounts and seal it.

In the preliminary information, it has been found that he opened the divisional offices of Youth International Scout and Guide at Aurangabad, Nagpur, Nashik, Solapur and Nanded. He started a luxurious office at Kushalnagar in Aurangabad and also appointed a lady assistant here. He had done several financial transactions in her name. PSI Ajay Suryawanshi, hawaldar Mankape and Mahesh Ugle are further investigating the case.

It has been unveiled that Vaidya was arrested in 2017 in a similar cheating case. He was then suspended from his job in the social welfare department. Earlier, he was posted at Aurangabad and later transferred to Nashik. Today, when the news of Vaidya’s arrest spread, around 5 to 6 youths also came to the police and told that they were also duped by Vaidya. The police have called them with the related documents for further action. The police opined that many such cheating cases are likely to come to the fore with the arrest of Vaidya.
