The crime branch police today has arrested a notorious goon Vikky alias Helmet Gautam Sonkamble (30, Mukundwadi) in connection with the case of looting a trader, one fortnight ago.
It may be noted that Satara Police had lodged a complaint against an unidentified motorcycle rider for beating a trader (selling bakery products) from Peshwenagar in Satara locality, a fortnight ago, at 8 pm. The accused had also whisked away cash from his pocket. During the investigation, the cops came to know about the involvement of Vikky and his accomplice in the case. Hence the Crime branch's PSI Amol Deshmukh, Kiran Gavande, Sanjaysingh Rajput, and Baban Ippar arrested the prime accused today. When pressed hard, he confessed to his crime. Vikky Helmet is a record criminal and is wanted in many cases of looting and house-breaking thefts.
