Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Two separate fires broke out on Sunday afternoon around 4 pm in the Waluj area. In MIDC Waluj's, a fire erupted in the green belt. Nearby company workers spotted the smoke and alerted the fire brigade, which quickly brought the blaze under control. The cause remains unknown. In another incident at Jogeshwari (Survey No. 139), a harvested tur (pigeon pea) stack caught fire and burnt completely. The farmer had planned to thresh it by machine the next day, but the fire caused a loss of Rs 25,000–Rs 30,000. Neighboring farmers attempted to help but could not save the crop. No casualties were reported in either incident, but residents and farmers are being urged to stay alert given the recurring fire incidents in the area.
